Affiliate Stats Tracker has an integrated Backup and Restore functionality, allowing you to take and restore full backups of all of your affiliate program credentials, and all collected statistics.
The backup process can be useful for saving and restoring a point-in-time copy of all of your data. And also for migrating Affiliate Stats Tracker to a new computer.
How do I access Backup & Restore?
To access Backup and Restore, click “View” on the top menu bar, and then click “Admin”.
From the Admin menu, select “Backup & Restore”.
How do I Backup Affiliate Stats Tracker?
First, navigate to the Backup & Restore page. Follow the instructions directly above to get to this page.
In order to securely store your affiliate program credentials, all backup files created by Affiliate Stats Tracker are encrypted.
In order to encrypt your backup file, you must provide a password.
This password can either be the password that you currently use to log in, or it can be a custom password that you use just for this backup file.
Whichever password option you choose – and you must choose one – you must remember this password, as without it, you can not restore from this backup.
Once you have chosen a password option, you can click “Backup Now”, which will open a prompt to save your newly created backup file wherever you choose on your computer.
You may accept the default file name, or provide your own.
The default filename is a long form time marker of the exact second you created the backup file, for example:
Note that this file name will change accordingly whenever you click the “Backup Now” button.
How do I Restore an Affiliate Stats Tracker Backup File?
First, navigate to the Backup & Restore page. Follow the instructions above to get to this page.
To get started with restoring any Affiliate Stats Tracker backup file, either drag and drop your backup file anywhere inside the dotted area, or click inside the dotted area to search for the file on your system.
In order to restore an Affiliate Stats Tracker backup file, you must provide the password you used when creating the backup file.
If this password is the same one you currently use to log in, then the first checkbox – “Restore using my current password” – will use your currently logged in user password to decrypt your backup file.
However, if you used a custom password, or you have changed your log in details for any reason, then you must provide the exact password you used when creating the backup file.
Once both the “Restore” dotted box, and one of the two password choices is provided, the “Restore” button will be enabled and you can continue with the restoration process.
This process should take only seconds, and once done your Affiliate Stats Tracker application will reload.
Assuming you provided a valid backup file, and associated password, your affiliate program credentials and all statistics will now be reloaded and ready for display.
